Kelly Hemp Owner / President Kelly has spent the past 25 years in the construction industry and can’t imagine doing anything else. He has been diligent and intentional about learning and doing most trades within the construction industry to become the well-rounded, talented general contractor that he is today. Whether it’s block work, finishing flatwork, framing, finish trim carpenter, custom home builder, remodels, additions, residential and commercial; he has done it all! In the process of being involved in all these areas of construction, he discovered highly energy efficient building system using Insulated Concrete Forms. He has an extensive and ever-growing concrete background, and has specialized in ICF construction since 1998. His commercial construction background makes him well suited for the complexities of both commercial and residential construction. Kelly enjoys teaching and educating other builders and industry professionals about ICF’s and energy efficient building methods, and has taught in formats at the Builder’s Association of the Twin Cities, Connex, WI, and other venues.
Kelly grew up in Andover and graduated from Anoka High School. Kelly graduated from Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN. He majored in Communication Studies (B.A.) and has a minor in Theology. His degree serves him well in his chosen profession. Kelly is a conscientious, dedicated and a consummate professional. You’ll find him to be cautious, conventional, diplomatic and sincere. Kelly is a precise and disciplined person with high standards and expectations of himself and others. He thrives on analyzing problems and situations and coming up with solutions. He has a creative mind which can be used to bring forward thinking and originality to processes and projects. Kelly's logical, analytical approach combined with his intuitive gifts allows him to maintain his focus on tasks and ideas. You will find Kelly to be practical, systematic, thorough and hard working.
In his free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, and their daughter Ella Grace and son Drew Michael. He also enjoys being part of their church marriage ministry, deer hunting, elk hunting in Colorado, fishing, four-wheeling, working on his own home projects, and spending time at their cabin in Hayward, WI. Sitting still is not very high on his list of “to-do’s!”
Carrie Hemp Vice President of Operations carrieh@cornerstoneccinc.com Carrie has more than 20 years of operations/leadership, marketing/advertising, and sales experience. Her leadership and communication skills have enabled her to earn the trust and respect of others and consistently exceed expectations. Carrie’s energy, motivation, and concern for others serve her well in leadership, project management, and building and maintaining long-term client relationships. You will find Carrie to be sociable and friendly with a warm-hearted demeanor. Carrie grew up in Ashland, WI and graduated from Bethel University with a Business Major. Carrie loves being a mom and spending time with her family; husband Kelly and their two kids; Ella and Drew. Carrie enjoys family, parent/child, marriage, and parent/child retreats, serving as mentor to a teenager through the Kinship organization, spending time in local schools teaching kids about business and the community through Junior Achievement, working on the Women & Marriage Ministry Teams at church, and spending time at their cabin in Hayward, WI.
Ander Schumann Project Manager / Sales & Development ander@cornerstoneccinc.com Ander has been in the construction industry for over 14 years. He has a diverse background in construction & management. Ander started in the industry as a commercial playground carpenter and soon was involved in many other facets of production and execution. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Wyoming. Ander earned certificates from the University of Minnesota in Construction Estimating and Lumber and Building Materials. He has further developed his construction skills and has been accredited as a Certainteed Master Shingle Applicator as well as Steep Slope Certified by the GAF/ELK Corporation. Ander also has a history in sales where he strives to exceed epectations of both his clients and his colleagues. Ander has a special interest in energy efficient and healthy homes. When Ander is not working on the jobs, he spends time with his Wife, dog, cat, pet ducks, running his home business, hunting, & fishing.
Jim Schoch Office Manager / CFO jschoch@cornerstoneccinc.com Jim has over 32 years industry experience. He has a special interest in accounting and reporting critical sales data. Jim dedicated almost two decades working specifically for a high production home builder in the Twin Cities. He also over a decade and a half as a Chief Financial Officer. Jim holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and is a Certified Management Accountant by the American Association for Accountants. When Jim is not at the office he spends his time in a boat, on the golf course, or on a snowmobile.
Tony Woolhouse Estimator / Project Manager / Sales tonyw@cornerstoneccinc.com Tony has over 30 years industry experience, 22 specifically with masonry. He has a special interest in pursuing new customers. He has experience laying block and as a foreman for 15 years and then spent another 10 years as an Estimator and Project Manager. Both Tony and his older brothers are involved in the concrete and masonry industry, further validating that concrete, runs in the family. He started his career at age 13, while helping pour a concrete driveway at age 13. When Tony is not at work he spends time fishing and is a self proclaimed “Sports Fan.”
Tony Sorenson Flat Work Foreman (Concrete & Decorative Specialities) Tony has over 12 years of industry experience. He is an expert in stamped concrete and acid staining. He has experience in decorative overlay’s. Tony has worked on concrete projects both on exteriors and interiors, and both commercial and residential. He has a special interest in concrete countertops, stenciling with texture spray, and Epoxy coatings. He has over two years training in Advanced Decorative Concrete. When he is not on the job, Tony is either fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling , or working on cars.
Chuck Miller Lead Mason: Foundations & Footings / Block Layer / Finisher / ICF Chuck has over 16 and a half years industry experience. He is an experience foundations and footings specialist. He is also an experienced flatwork installer. He started his career in residential but has excelled in commercial projects, which is where his passion is demonstrated in his quality of work. He is an advocated of treating others with respect and dignity and always strives to treat others as an equal. He also focuses his efforts on doing a much nicer job than the next guy. When Chuck is not on the job site he is watching his kids play sports.
ICF, CARPENTRY, STEEL STUDS, DRYWALL, & DEMOLITION
Mike Hemp Lead Carpenter & Project Foreman: Steel Studs, Drywall, ICF, Flatwork Mike has over 18 years in the industry. He has experience in a number of facets within construction. He has been involved in finish carpentry, remodeling, drywall, taping, roofing, framing, plumbing, electrical, concrete, landscaping, carpet, windows, foundations, ICF, cabinetry, and more. He has worn many different hats, and has experience supervising others, enforcing safety and encouraging better time management practices. He specializes in his remodeling skills and takes pride in his finish carpentry. He is also a professional who prides himself on worksite safety, personal integrity, professionalism, learning new techniques and knowledge. When Mike is not on the job site, he is fishing, hunting, or drooling on older cars.
Brad Martin Lead Carpenter & Profect Foreman: Carpentry & Concrete Specialist Brad has over 24 years industry experience. He is an experienced framer, drywall hanger, sheetrock taper, roofer, sider, trimmer, block layer, concrete installer, tile setter, deck builder, landscaper and expert in steel stud framing. Brad has a special interest in being knowledgeable and skilled in many different trades. He is a passionate and dedicated father of five who admits, his kids take up most of his free time. When Brad is not of the job site he is either hunting camping or entertaining his kids.
Ashton Jenkins Lead Carpenter & Project Foreman: Steel Studs, Drywall, Framing, ICF Ashton has over 12 years experience in the industry. He has acquired specialties ranging from wood and steel stud framing, drywall hanging and finishing, remodeling, ICF, finish carpentry, window and door installation, landscaping, and more. Ashton works in both residential and commercial construction, and takes every opportunity that comes his way to learn all he can about this industry that he loves working in. He takes pride in his work, and will ensure the details and process will be implemented correctly and within the expectations desired. Ashton loves interacting with people whether it is his colleagues or clients. He is easy going and likes making the work place a fun place to be. In Ashton’s free, you can find him working on hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and looking for his next big adventure.
